Shoepal

Find someone with your mirror sizes, and work it out together.

Shoepal introduces you to pals whose shoe sizes are the other way round to yours. Here’s how each step works.

Tell us your sizes

Start on the homepage with your left and right sizes. We’ll find pals with the same shoe type and your sizes the other way round.

  • Mirror sizes. If you’re a left 7 and a right 5, your pal is a left 5 and a right 7.
  • Local matches. Opt in with your postcode and we’ll prioritise pals within your travel distance.
  • Shoes for someone else. An account can have up to five profiles. Each has its own pals and shoes, and you move between them with the “Shoes for” switcher.

Pick some styles

Choose the styles you like, then create your account with Google or your email address. Add shoes to your wishlist whenever you like, so your pals can see what you’re after.

  • Who you match with. A match is the same shoe type and mirror sizes. Shared styles and shoes put a pal higher up your list, and nobody’s hidden for liking something different.
  • Shoes first. Matches shows the shoes your pals picked, then the pals themselves.

Start chatting

When you’ve found someone, start a chat and see whether you can help each other out. Seeing your matches is free. Sending a message needs a subscription.

  • Share shoes as you talk. Drop a shoe into the chat as a card, so you’re both looking at the same one.
  • Moderated for safety. Every message runs through automatic moderation. You can block or report any pal from the chat menu or their profile.
  • Take your time. Chat for as long as you like before you decide anything.

What pals usually do.

Most pals each buy a pair from a retailer, then swap the shoe they don’t need. Say you’re a left 7 and a right 5: you buy a pair in a 7, your pal buys a pair in a 5, and you swap right shoes. You each pay for one pair instead of two.

However you arrange it, in person, online at the same time, or by post, it’s between you and your pal. Shoepal isn’t in the middle. It’s just how you found each other.

Safety isn’t an afterthought.

You’re talking to a stranger about meeting up or sharing an address. We take that seriously.

Automatic moderation

Every message is screened in real time. Threats, hate and violence are blocked before they reach your pal.

Block and report

Block or report any pal from the chat menu or their profile. Blocked pals can’t see you, message you, or appear in your matches.

A real person reviews

Every report is read by a real person, and we look into anything that puts the community at risk.

A few things people ask.

Do my pal and I have to like the same styles?

No. Shared styles and shoes only change the order of your matches. The shoe you actually buy is something you both agree on in chat.

What if no one matches my sizes?

Mirror sizes can take time to find. The more pals join, the more matches there are. We’ll let you know when someone matches, and you can change those notifications in Settings.

Do I have to meet in person?

No. You can each order your pair and swap by post. If you’d rather meet up, local matches prioritise pals nearby.

What if the shoes don’t fit when they arrive?

Same as buying any shoes: you return them to the retailer. Talk to your pal first, so you don’t both send yours back before you’ve tried the swap.

Does Shoepal take a cut of what I pay for shoes?

You and your pal each buy directly from the retailer of your choice, and Shoepal doesn’t sit between you and the shop. Some retailer links earn us a commission from the retailer, and we say so next to those links.

How much does Shoepal cost?

Free to browse. Sending messages needs a subscription, and the best value is £19.99/year. See pricing.
